Tombstone Tuesday

Cornelia Ewell Christopher Cook was my great great grandmother. She was born 22 September 1838 in Lowndes County Alabama and died 24 October 1918 in Texarkana, Miller, Arkansas. She was supposedly an exceptional woman, though I know very little about her personally. She was married to John Cook, who was a magnificent orator and one of the finest criminal lawyers in southwestern Arkansas. They lived at 422 Hazel Street in Texarkana. Through her family my daughter, Carolyn, and I were able to join the DAR. Our Revolutionary ancestor through this line is Samuel Neal

John and Cornelia Cook are buried in State Line Cemetery in Texarkana.
